So right now I’m finishing up with week 9. Why did I think it would be a good idea to jump to 5 miles next week when I’m barely finishing 4 this week- and not comfortably? I think next week will be a struggle. Since I do tend to do my fair share of hiking, I’ve decided that I can substitute ONE hike for a run per week. Often if I do a good hike I’m sore and can’t really run that day anyway. 4 miles has been hard these last two weeks. I can’t do it without walking for a minute half way through, but I’m okay with that. Today I *ran with my track star sister, who is visiting, a loop that ended up being 4 1/2 miles instead of 4 and which involved going up 7 avenues (i.e. big hills). Woo hoo! It was really hard though.
Also, I don’t think I’m going to do the 10k I’ve been planning on. It’s too far and not interesting enough. So I’m looking for another race- a cool one in a cool location. Possibly a half marathon no earlier than late July. Any suggestions, blogging world?
*when I say run, I mean panting and jogging a block behind her
