I love the idea of a gallery wall (inspiration here and here) so I created a mini one in Hank’s room after a morning of water coloring.
We’ve been doing a lot of art projects lately and water coloring is one of his new favorites. I can always judge how much he likes an activity by the length of the tantrum he throws when it has to end. This one was twenty minutes plus.
He prefers the pointillism technique
After exhausting himself with the tantrum he fell fast asleep for his nap and then I got to work. I took these small, old thrifted frames (cost me less than $10)
And spray painted them gold ($4)
Then I cut his paintings down to size and hung them when he got up.
It’ll be easy to switch out the paintings with new ones whenever we’d like, or add new frames to the mix. Hank is very proud of his gallery wall. I like how it turned out and am hoping to keep it up through the years.
