• My Sunroom Workspace

So honored today to have Design Sponge featuring my before/after desk and chair project for the workspace in the sunroom. Go here to check out the post!
After striping paint, changing the hardware and covering up the laminate top with coats of paint and rub on poly, I finished things off by lining the old school desk drawers with pretty paper (to cover up the scratchings of a disgruntled 12 year old)

PS the gold file folders were a gift from Joy of Oh Joy and the mini bunting and polaroid was a gift from Melanie of You Are My Fav.

Other artwork from Tush Tush and sponsor Kiki and Polly

I'm currently repainting a desk and want to use rub on poly but I've read that it causes bubbles that you can only see after it's dry. Did you have that trouble?

I don't even have a creative space so I find myself seriously coveting yours. It is perfection. Good work.

thanks everyone. The top was tricky. it was some kind of laminate or formica. I sanded it a lot and then put a good zinsser primer on and a super glossy coat of white on top. yes, i also stained the wood after it was stripedmeg, the rub on poly is called minwax wipe on polyurethane. it's to protect the top.

Yes, I'd love to know more about how you painted and sealed the laminate top. Also, did you have to stain? Beautiful results!

Leslie, I used just wire we had laying around for picture hanging. The clips are mini Japanese clothespins

Love the look of your desk! Just curious what you used as wire/string to hang each set of photos & ephemera. Also what clips you used. Leslie
