Fall is just about here and every fall I find myself being more drawn to denim as summer skirts and dresses get packed away for the season. This year I’ve seen a lot of lighter wash jean options, cropped denim vests, and destroyed skinny jeans (I have a tutorial on how to perfectly distress your jeans here).
But the real question is the denim on denim trend I’ve seen around. I’ve seen so many people mix and match washes of jean on jean and not look like they’re in a full denim jumpsuit (although those are kind of cute as well!). It also works well with the western trend of cowboys boots and stiff felt ‘Indiana Jones hats’ (like the one above), as I like to call them. What do you think? Would you wear denim on denim?
Featuring Old Navy items: Denim vest in light wash, Rockstar distressed skinny jeans in light wash, Diva skinny jeans, Zip-pocket canvas tote, Classic chambray shirt. Also, floral blouse from Forever21, leather oxfords from Gap, and felt hat from Ambiance boutique

The chambray shirt with jeans is the easiest way it seems to jump into the denim on denim trend. And anything paired with a felt Indy Jones hat is a no-brainer in my book. A felt hat is one of the favorite hats we also featured in this post, if you remember. Love that trend!
